Request to Graduate Form
If you think you have completed (or will soon complete) the requirements for your program, be sure to fill out a Request to Graduate form and turn it in to the Registrar Office. Please have your form turned in by April 21st. Forms submitted after this date will still be accepted for evaluation, but your name may not be included in the program for the commencement ceremony. Even if you did not plan to participate in the ceremony, the Registrar still needs this form completed to evaluate your record and award your degree.
Already Filled out the Form?
If you already filled out your Request to Graduate form, or graduated in the Fall, please check the 16-17 Potential & Awarded Degrees list. We want to make sure we have your name as you would like it to appear in the commencement program, and that we have correct degree information listed. If you see something is wrong, please notify the Registrar Office right away!
Caps and Gowns
Caps, gowns, and tassels will be available for pick up at each campus bookstore beginning April 19th. These items are free of charge and yours to keep. Please be sure to pick yours up ahead of time, as you will not be able to pick them up the night of graduation.
Rehearsal for the Keokuk ceremony will be at 8:00 AM, Wednesday, May 10th at the Grand Theatre.
Rehearsal for the West Burlington ceremony will be at 11:00 AM, Thursday, May 11th at the Burlington Memorial Auditorium.
If you cannot attend and have specific questions, please contact the Registrar Office.
Students that completed their programs in Fall 2016, or will be completing at the end of Spring or Summer 2017 are invited to participate in the ceremony. Information is listed below.
West Burlington Commencement
Disability seating is limited at the Grand Theatre. Should a disabled person be attending the Keokuk ceremony, please contact Deanne (319-313-1923) so that tickets my be issued.
Disability seating at the Burlington Memorial auditorium is available on the Mezzanine level, and may be accessed by the elevator located to your right when entering the main entrance doors. Tickets are not required for this venue.
For your benefit, we have made arrangements with GradImages for a professional photographer to record the moment you are awarded your diploma. This service will enable all students to have a photo of their graduation. Families are encouraged to remain in their seats, enjoy the ceremony, and limit picture taking to before and after the presentation of diplomas. We feel that you will be satisfied with the high quality of the resulting photograph. Diplomas will be mailed to students approximately 4-6 weeks after the end of the semester in which they completed their program.
