Your Tax Dollars

There are two primary local tax levies that support SCC. [Only about 3% of SCC's general fund budget dollars come from local property tax.] The 6 cent fund supports the purchase of instructional equipment, while the 20 1/4 cent levy helps fund construction and maintenance of college facilities. Neither tax levy can be used to support employee salaries. SCC is grateful that voters in southeast Iowa overwhelmingly approved both of these levies. Learn more about them and their use below.

• The 6-cent Instructional Equipment Levy - voter approved
  This levy funds instructional equipment used in student learning. This fund is approximately $180,000 per year. Click for a recent flyer.
