March 1 Deadline for $300,000 in Scholarships from SCC Foundation

The Southeastern Community College Foundation is now accepting applications for scholarships for students who plan to attend SCC in the fall. Applications will be accepted until 4:30 p.m. CDT, March 1, 2017.

STEMFest Returns to SCC in West Burlington on February 10

The fifth annual Southeast Iowa Regional Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math Festival (STEMFest) will take place at SCC's West Burlington campus on Saturday, February 10 from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. The event is a joint effort between SCC, the Southeast Iowa STEM Hub, local businesses, manufacturers, and educators.

SCC's Culture on Campus Committee will host a Visiting Writers Series event Saturday, November 11, at 8:00 p.m. on its West Burlington campus. Scheduled to appear are poets Katherine Gibbel and Alyssa Moore, two writers from the University of Iowa Writers' Workshop in Iowa City. SCC's Di Dante Literature & Writing Club will co-host.

Get Help Completing the FAFSA at SCC on Nov 1

SCC will offer free assistance to persons need help completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at its FAFSA Ready Iowa event on Wednesday, November 1 at both the West Burlington and Keokuk campuses. The event will take place from 3 to 6 p.m.
SCC Hosts Open House for New Auto Tech Lab on Keokuk Campus Oct. 24

SCC will host an open house for its new Automotive Technology Lab on its Keokuk campus on Tuesday, October 24 from 4:30 to 6:00 p.m. Made possible in part by a $10,000 grant from the Iowa Auto Dealers Association, the lab is equipped with auto lifts, tool chests and class-related equipment.

The Second Annual Dirty Hawk 5K Comes to SCC on October 14

Southeastern Community College (SCC) will host its second annual Dirty Hawk Dash 5K on Saturday, October 14 in West Burlington. This mud run will take racers on a 5K loop over, through and around SCC's West Burlington campus with plenty of obstacles along the way.

Zombie Walk Comes to Keokuk October 13

SCC Keokuk campus Drama Club will host its 7th Annual Zombie Walk on Friday, October 13. The walk will begin at Estes Park at Fifth and Main Street in Keokuk. Registration starts at 5:00 p.m. The contest starts promptly at 6:00 p.m., with walk to follow.

SCC's James Concannon Scholarship for Industrial Maintenance Technology Application Deadline October 1

The SCC Foundation is seeking applications for one of its newest scholarships, the James Concannon Industrial Maintenance Scholarship. This $1000 scholarship is open to students enrolled or intending to enroll in SCC's Industrial Maintenance Technology Program. Application deadline is October 1.

SCC Opens New Industrial Technologies Training Center on June 13

SCC's annual Investigate Your Future educational event for 8th grade girls will take place on Tuesday, May 16 on the West Burlington campus. Over 300 girls from school districts across Southeast Iowa will attend.
