The annual Southeastern Community College Foundation (SCCF) Great Tastes event is scheduled for Friday, November 11, at the Catfish Bend Convention & Event Center in Burlington. Registration begins at 5:30 p.m. with the silent auction starting at 6 p.m.

SCC to Host College Fair on October 11

Southeastern Community College will host College Representative Day on Tuesday, October 11, from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. in the Loren Walker Arena on the West Burlington campus. Area high school juniors, seniors, and their guardians are invited to attend to learn more about their college options.

SCC Hosts Zombie Invasion in Keokuk

The SCC Keokuk Campus Drama Club will host its 10th Annual Zombie Walk on Friday, October 14. Registration is free and starts at 5 p.m. A costume and performance contest begins at 6 p.m. with the walk to follow at Estes Park on Fifth and Main Street in Keokuk.
SCC Nursing Program on Path for Growth Thanks to Partnership Perks

SCC's partnership with Southeast Iowa Regional Medical Center focuses on expanding SCC's nursing program to help meet the critical need for nurses. The $10 million partnership will increase program capacity to train more nursing students in West Burlington and Keokuk.

Respiratory Therapy Students Earn IHERF Scholarship

SCC respiratory therapy students Daniel Atwood and Alyssa Greenstreet have been awarded a $3,500 scholarship from the Iowa Hospital Education and Research Foundation (IHERF), which is supported by the Iowa Hospital Association (IHA). Atwood and Greenstreet are among 60 students from Iowa who have received assistance this year from the IHERF Health Care Careers Scholarship Program.

A Midsummer Night's Dream Comes to Life

SCC music and drama students will perform A Midsummer Night's Dream over the next two weekends. The show stops at the Burlington Capitol Theater on April 8, 9, and 10 before traveling to the Keokuk Grand Theatre for performances on April 15 & 16.

Great River Health Foundation Grants SCC Up to $10 Million

On Wednesday, Great River Health announced a new partnership to expand Southeastern Community College's nursing program to help meet the critical need for nurses. It will be funded by a grant of up to $10 million from the Great River Health Foundation.

The annual Southeast Iowa Regional Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math Festival (STEMFest) will take place at SCC's West Burlington campus on Saturday, March 12 from 10:00 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. The family-friendly event is a joint effort among SCC, the Southeast Iowa STEM Region, the Lee County Economic Development Group, Greater Burlington Partnership, local businesses, manufacturers and area educators.

SCC Auto Technology Program Earns Re-Accreditation

The automotive technology program at Southeastern Community College has earned re-accreditation for Master Automobile Service Technology. This accreditation is the highest level of program accreditation recognized by the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE).
