The 20th annual SCC Alumni Association Golf Outing is set for Friday, July 17 at Sheaffer Memorial Golf Course with a shot-gun start at 12:30 p.m. The event includes free beverages all day long, gifts for every golfer, hole games - including a chance to win $5,000 for a hole-in-one, a dinner buffet after golf, Birdies for Charity pledges, and a 50/50 raffle. Mulligans and raffle tickets are available for purchase on the course.

The Southeastern Community College (SCC) Agriculture Department will host its second annual SCC Blackhawk Preview Show at the Des Moines County Fairgrounds on Saturday, May 9 and Sunday, May 10. The event includes an Iowa Junior Beef Breeds Association cattle show on Saturday and an Iowa Junior Swine Association hog show on Sunday. Weigh-ins for both shows begins at 8 a.m., showing starts at 9 a.m.

Southeastern Community College (SCC) Respiratory Care students took first place at this year's Sputum Bowl competition in Des Moines for the fourth year in a row. SCC Respiratory Care students, Alicia Tripp, Brooke Wolkenhauer, and Chelsea Craine all represented SCC at the state-wide event.
