Greg Smith | Principal, Fort Madison High School
I wasn't the best student in high school and when I graduated, I had no idea what I wanted to do. I had all sorts of jobs over the years until I finally decided to go to college.
From the time I went to SCC back in 1985 and the support I had as a first-year student to the support that they show to our kids at Fort Madison High School, it's just been fabulous to have SCC as a part of our community. It provides so many opportunities for people, no matter your age, or ability, or income, or career interest.
SCC made a huge impact in my life back then and now it makes a huge impact in the lives of my students today. Through our concurrent enrollment classes, our students can earn college credit while still in high school. That helps keep students engaged in their education by exploring career options and it saves their families so much money.
SCC offers something for everybody regardless of interest. If you want to work toward a four-year degree, there are classes for that. If you're interested in technical careers, there are classes for that too.
