SCC Trustee, Staff Honored at Annual Community Colleges for Iowa Conference
Southeastern Community College (SCC) trustee Janet Fife-LaFrenz along with employees Amber Ruskell-Lamer and Angela Mickelson received awards from the Community Colleges for Iowa organization, formerly known as the Iowa Association of Community College Trustees.
Respiratory Therapy Students Earn IHERF Scholarship
SCC respiratory therapy students Daniel Atwood and Alyssa Greenstreet have been awarded a $3,500 scholarship from the Iowa Hospital Education and Research Foundation (IHERF), which is supported by the Iowa Hospital Association (IHA). Atwood and Greenstreet are among 60 students from Iowa who have received assistance this year from the IHERF Health Care Careers Scholarship Program.
SCCAA Golf Outing set for Friday, July 15
The annual SCC Alumni Association Golf Outing will take place Friday, July 15, at Sheaffer Memorial Golf Course with a shot-gun start at 9 a.m.
Tuition-free degrees offered at SCC
Iowa residents entering one of 20 programs at SCC could earn a degree without paying for tuition, thanks to the Last-Dollar Scholarship program.

A Midsummer Night's Dream Comes to Life
SCC music and drama students will perform A Midsummer Night's Dream over the next two weekends. The show stops at the Burlington Capitol Theater on April 8, 9, and 10 before traveling to the Keokuk Grand Theatre for performances on April 15 & 16.
Great River Health Foundation Grants SCC Up to $10 Million
On Wednesday, Great River Health announced a new partnership to expand Southeastern Community College's nursing program to help meet the critical need for nurses. It will be funded by a grant of up to $10 million from the Great River Health Foundation.
SCC'S BUSINESS AND COMPUTER CLUBS EARN HIGH RANKS AT STATE COMPETITION
Eight students from Southeastern Community College's Computer Club and three from its Business Club earned top ranks at the Business Professionals of America (BPA) State Leadership Conference held this month.
STEMFest Returns March 12
The annual Southeast Iowa Regional Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math Festival (STEMFest) will take place at SCC's West Burlington campus on Saturday, March 12 from 10:00 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. The family-friendly event is a joint effort among SCC, the Southeast Iowa STEM Region, the Lee County Economic Development Group, Greater Burlington Partnership, local businesses, manufacturers and area educators.
