Tamika started college and it wasn't long after that she had her first child. When she thought about quitting to care for her new baby, her teachers and fellow students encouraged her to stick with it.

"I had tremendous support from my instructors."

She also credits her mom as a big motivator, remembering all the hurdles she had to overcome in her life.

"I saw my mom go through this. I can do anything."

With SCC right here, she knew she had to find it in herself to embrace the opportunity and make the best of it.
