How does free college sound?

SCC offers scholarships to hundreds of deserving students each year. Two of the prized scholarships are the Trustees Honors Scholarship and the Trustees Diversity Scholarship. These cover up to 100% full tuition and are renewable.

Board of Trustees Honors Scholarship

The Southeastern Community College Board of Trustees Honors Scholarship is awarded to the valedictorian and salutatorian of the graduating class in any state accredited public or parochial high school in Iowa, Illinois, and Missouri.

The scholarship covers up to 100% of tuition and is renewable for a second year of enrollment. Should the student receive an SCC Foundation Scholarship or have other scholarships that must be applied toward tuition, the Trustees Honors Scholarship shall be reduced by that amount.

Guidelines

1) Student must be the valedictorian or salutatorian according to cumulative grade point average in the graduating class.

2) Students must enroll as a full-time student at SCC no later than the fall term following high school graduation.

3) The Honors Scholarship may be used up to a maximum of four regular academic terms (Fall, Spring, Fall, Spring) and summer enrollment in two academic years, or until the completion of an Associate Degree, whichever comes first.

4) Student must successfully complete 12 hours of credit and maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.50 to remain eligible for this scholarship each semester. The 12-hour minimum is not applicable during summer sessions.

Application Process

1) The Statement of Acceptance shall be submitted to the Foundation Office.

2) Submit a completed application for admission to SCC

3) Complete the FAFSA application process

4) Complete SCC Foundation Application

5) Submit a copy of high school transcript to the Registrar's Office.

6) The notification deadline shall be August 1 of the student's year of graduation. Declarations at a later date will be considered on an individual basis.
