When SCC opened its doors in 1966 as a comprehensive community college, it already had a heritage of excellence, thanks to the pioneering efforts of its parent institutions, Burlington Junior College (est. 1920) and Keokuk Community College (est. 1953).

Nearly 100,000 students have graduated in our 100 years of offering public higher education in southeast Iowa.

Support our students

Every year, the SCCAA awards Distinguished Alumni scholarships to recent SCC graduates who intend to continue their education after SCC.

Additionally, the SCCAA funds mini-grants for instructors and staff to improve student learning and opportunities to succeed.

How the SCCAA Operates

Membership fees are used to defray the costs of printing and mailing membership cards, newsletters, and invitations. Donations and annual golf outing fundraiser proceeds help fund Distinguished Alumni awards.
