Alcohol & Other Drug Awareness Refresher for Managers and Supervisors

Iowa's drug testing law (Iowa Code Section 730.5, paragraph 9.h. and Administrative Code Section 640) enhances worker safety by creating drug & substance free workplaces. One tool available to private sector employers is drug testing (inclusive of alcohol testing). An employer who chooses to use this tool must attend a minimum of two hours of initial training, and a minimum of one hour annually for update or refresher training. This training meets the one-hour annual refresher training requirement and includes information concerning the recognition of evidence of employee alcohol and/or other drug abuse, the documentation and corroboration of alcohol and/or other drug abuse, and the referral of employees who abuse alcohol and/or other drugs to the employee assistance program.

Forklift Operator Training (Power Industrial Trucks)

This course is designed to meet the training requirements for OSHA standard 29 CFR 1910.178. Training topics include: mechanics, inspection, and maintenance of forklifts; ANSI driving procedures; lift operation; and special operating rules. Forklift (Powered Industrial Trucks) Train-the-Trainer
Instructional delivery of lecture and hands-on training to provide a training program expanding on the trainee's prior knowledge, the types of vehicles used in the workplace, and the hazards of the workplace. Course will utilize group discussion and hands on practice. Each operator will be able to conduct driving skills audits, obtain the knowledge and skills audits, obtain the knowledge and skills needed to do their job correctly and safely. Trainers must hold a Basic Forklift (PIT) Operator certificate as a prerequisite for this training.
